Le Pain Quotidien

Hello dear reader, and welcome to another episode of the Foodie Files here on Cabin Twenty-Four!

My youngest brother recently broke his earphones so my mom and I decided to head to Apple to get them exchanged. While waiting for our appointment for the Genius Bar at Apple, we decided to stroll down any open establishments in Downtown Pasadena. My mom suggested Starbucks; however, we ended up at Le Pain Quotidien. Apparently, le pain quotidian easily translates to “the daily bread”.

One look at the menu, and it’s safe to say that Le pain Quotidien is a rather hipster food place. Pretty food and even prettier table settings = very photogenic establishment. I had originally wanted to get the spicy shrimp and avocado toast but opted for the warm chocolate Belgian waffle. My mom loves her sweets so she wanted a chocolate chip cookie.

Unfortunately, right when our server arrived, I received a text from Apple saying that we needed to check-in within ten minutes or our spot would be given away. Instead of ordering the waffle, I settled for a chocolate chip cookie and their raspberry lemonade.

HOW MASSIVE IS THAT COOKIE?! It was really good, especially since it was warmed up! Their raspberry lemonade tasted really good but it bordered more on the sour side rather than the sweet side, which is how I prefer my lemonades. It was nice getting some alone time with my mom since I always enjoy our talks. She did judge me and laughed when I was taking pictures of the place but fooooood. I replied to her with “if I never took photos of my food, was I ever really there?!”

There’s a Le Pain Quotidien near where I’m staying this week!! The name already sounds fancy on its own. I love it when restaurants care about their appearance. It shows that they care and it helps them with marketing by their customers. Their cookie is huge!!! Glad to hear that you enjoyed this place!

Ah I took all these years of French but could not remember what “le pain quotidien” meant. Good thing you translated it for us! I love warmed up cookies ~ especially the cinnamon flavored ones. I think they’re called snickerdoodles? Hope you get to visit again for the waffle!

Cookie looks delish! There are a few Le Pain Quotidien in Sydney; wonder how many there are worldwide. Glad to hear you enjoyed the place, perhaps waffle next time?

There’s tons of LPQ in NYC! I kind of consider them the “fancy expensive Panera.” Haha. Their food and drinks are yummy, but on the pricey side (like $4 for a croissant??). Glad you enjoyed it though. The cookie looks so good right now. Agh.

Ahh that place looks good! I’ve seen it around NYC but I’ve never actually been in one. That cookie makes me really regret that! If ever make it in there I will definitely get the cookie.

Homg, that cookie is calling my name. I love chocolate chip cookies *_* They are my favourite. Shame you weren’t able to get that shrimp and avocado toast or the Belgian waffles! Sounds like you need to return to this place and try more of their food! If you return here, do blog about it again 😀

WHAT! I did NOT know there was a Le Pain Quotidien in Pasadena! I avoid going to Apple stores as much as possible haha. I didn’t know you could get an exchange for broken headphones. I just buy new ones!
