Live from the Staples Center

For Christmas, I bought Chris and myself tickets to see our favorite basketball team play live – the Boston Celtics! We lost but the experience was really great.

A Pirate’s Life for Me

Throwing it back to when Chris and I checked out the local Renaissance Faire in the area. It was our first time going so we dressed up as pirates and enjoyed our day! Ahoy, mateys!

Valentine’s Day and what not

Chris and I aren’t too big on Valentine’s Day but we did go out to eat some lobster grilled cheese for lunch and saw a movie. I ranted about other things as well.

Working with Dementia

Little known fact: I’ve worked with the elderly diagnosed with dementia now. As I close this chapter of my life, I wanted to share my experiences and a few things I’ve learned in this journey.

On top of the world

Before heading out, Chris and I hiked to the top of Keys View. It’s one of JT’s more popular destinations and boasts a great view of the Coachella Valley and Salton Sea.

Explorin’ Joshua Tree

After years of falling in love with the National Park system, I caved in and bought an annual pass! This means that for $80/year, I get to step inside the country’s most magical places. First line of business – Joshua Tree National Park.

Toby, Oranges, Poke

Check-in number 2: talking about my cat’s recent vet visit; my mom’s newfound love for gardening and her orange trees; meeting up with good friends over a bowl of poke.

1776, the Gastropub

If you know Chris and myself, you would know that we love burgers. And finding new, “hole in the wall” type kinda burger places. We discovered a new burger place, or rather “all-American gastropub” in the heart of Old Town Monrovia – 1776.

Cacti Island

Chris and I decided to check out California Cactus Center in Pasadena, CA a few days ago! I read about the place through Yelp and after seeing some photos on Instagram.
