Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.
– Albert Einsten

Oh my lanta, I’m twenty-six today. I’m officially in my late-twenties, and to be honest, I feel like I just turned 21 the other year! Last year, I wrote about how 25 was going to be a great year and I was spot on. A few important things that have happened over this past year:

  • trained and worked as a wound care/treatment nurse
  • bought an annual pass to the National Parks
  • got back into hiking even more
  • saw Hamilton: An American Musical in San Francisco
  • aaaand got engaged at said musical (!!!)
  • gardening became a new hobby of mine
  • kept up with this blog – MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT
  • met up some cool new people (waves to Nancy & Alyse)

I initially thought of doing a “26 things I learned before 26” sort of thing but to be honest, what I’ve learned is something I need to keep to myself and it’s probably embarrassing to share. Then I thought of writing a “26 things about me” post, but if you read the blog, then I’m sure you can gather 26 facts about me or even more! So I thought of making a short bucket list of things I want to do/challenge myself to do before I turn 27 next year:

  • lose xx amount of pounds (maybe I’ll share this number someday)
  • hike 27 new trails
  • level up in the nursing field – broaden my expertise than just doing psych & school nursing
  • say NO to Starbucks and rice
  • run two miles daily without wanting to die
  • get back into golfing
  • practice yoga
  • brunch more
  • be more mindful
  • be one with my veggies

As for my birthday, I spent it surrounded with the people dear and closest to my heart. Yesterday, I went to an Air Show with my family then we had some Korean BBQ for a late lunch/early dinner celebration. For today, I had planned on hiking but instead, I had Japanese food delivered to the house and binge-watched Stranger Things and Hawaii Five-O with Chris; my parents got me an Oreo ice cream cake and I blew out some candles. Life is great when you’re surrounded by people you love. I also received some amazing news today so 26 is already looking like it’s going to be an amazing year.

Happy birthday, Eena! Birthdays mean a fresh startβ€”a time for looking back with gratitude at the blessings of another year. It’s also a time to look forward with renewed hope for bigger blessings. May you find true bliss as you face your next milestones in life.

Happy belated birthday! Korean BBQ & Japanese food sounds excellent!

Seems like just yesterday I was turning 26. I remember I had a blacklight party for my birthday that year. Now I’m about to turn 29 in just over a week. Hard to believe it’s my last year in my 20’s! With my cat just passing away (we also happen to share the same birthday, so she won’t be with me), I’m not big on celebrating this year. Not sure what I’m going to do yet. I might just have a few people over for a movie night or something. I told my mom I want to go out for sushi or something.

Happiest birthday to you! You are still so young and vibrant and I love the goals you have set for yourself. It looks like you are working hard towards self improvement and taking care of your healthy and mind which is amazing at such a young age! Keep up the inspiring posts and enjoy your youth (coming from someone in her 30’s) – the best is yet to come! xoxo, Christine

Happy (belated) birthday! And congrats on your engagement! Considering the way 26 started, I’m sure you’ll get so much done before you turn 27. Especially good luck on the hiking 27 new trails – even when I was into hiking, finding new trails to do every single time could get a bit difficult without traveling far away!

happy belated birthday!! ohhh, it’s so nice to be able to do so many things! i personally love reading the x before x posts, but i agree – some of the most influential things we’ve learned are also the most personal, and it just feels a little weird talking about the things you’ve learned while keeping a few important ones to yourself.

lol @ be one with veggies – it’s something i have to adapt too.

    Happy Belated Birthday!

    After I turned 21, all of my birthdays have felt the same? So I totally get what you mean XD;

You did a lot in your 25th year! So much accomplishment and so much good things! Engagement! Meeting Nancy and Alyse! πŸ˜€

Good luck with all the things you will do! I am not sure if I could ever give up rice or coffee (I avoid Starbucks and prefer to support independent coffee houses!), so if you can say NO to that, you are amazing. And good luck with all yuour hiking and health goals! ^^

Your goals seem so healthy!! I’m sure you’ll crush them! 2 miles definitely seems like a lot in the beginning, but if you keep it up routinely, I guarantee you’ll be like, “eh? 5k race spontaneously this weekend? yeah! why not!”
Happy birthday, and congrats on the engagement!! πŸ™‚

Happy belated birthday! I’m so sorry I’m so late to this post! Love the new header by the way. It fits!

I feel so warm that I made it on the list πŸ™‚ As for the losing weight, I think it’s helpful to focus on making lifestyle changes rather than the number. As you exercise, you’ll gain muscle and that’s dense and will add weight! The running two miles a day — definitely need to add this to my list as well.

Can’t wait to see you and Nancy again!
