Eensy Bits, named after a forgotten blog, are entries where I share photos or thoughts that never get its own blog post. I write about little bits about what I’ve been up to!
A National Parks Map
I got the biggest surprise in the mail last month – a package from Nat, all the way from Australia. She had a National Parks map mailed to our new apartment as a housewarming gift. I have yet to get a frame for it but I am so excited. Thinking this will go really well above the fireplace.
Saturday Farmers Market & A Quiet Place
We also were finally able to go to the Saturday Farmers Market in town! I’ve always enjoyed these markets because I believe it’s so important to support local businesses. Unfortunately, there was heavy rain the night before and in the afternoon that there were only a few stalls opened. Chris and I grubbed on some Lumpia Hut and strolled through. I wanted to buy some berries but they won’t be in season until mid-May.
Afterwards, we headed home and left again for lunch. I wanted Chinese food but the restaurant was closed so we grabbed some burgers from A&W (they’re so pricey – I ended up ordering from the kids menu) instead, then went to see A Quiet Place. The movie was so good!! It’s nice to see a movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire film. Also, I had never been in a theater so silent until that movie.
Food Photos, anyone?
This past month, when I went home to visit my family, I stopped by and grabbed some poke (it’s a traditional Hawaiian food served with raw fish, some toppings, sauces, rice). I was bummed because not only did my favorite poke raise their prices, their portions got smaller and it just tasted bland. Their presentation was still great but the taste seemed to go downhill, blah. Time to hunt for a new poke spot.
Also, we received a free pizza coupon for Blaze in the mail one day, so Chris and I obviously put that to good use! Fun fact – I hate meat on my pizza. I usually put a lot of mushrooms, onions, spinach, pineapples (yep, I’m one of those) and feta cheese, mmhhhm – the best way to enjoy a build-your-own pizza.
Can you guys believe it’s May already?! This year is breezing by so fast, and that both excites and scares me. How was your April? Tell me all about it!
That National Parks map is beautifully illustrated! I also went to see A Quiet Place, for me it was a tear jerker as well…

I like how I talked about wanting to go to the Farmers Market and here you are – rocking some vibes at the Farmers Market!! Glad you guys still got something from the trip. WELL we’re arleady into the first week of May so mid-May is coming up soon.
I love how you’re rocking these food pics! DON’T YOU MISS LA POKE LOL. Blaze Pizza is so generous with their free pizza. I remember their grand opening in Glendale and they were giving away free pizza. Hope you’ll have a good May ;)!

Love that map! We are geographers, so maps are always so cool to us.
Have to admit, there’s nothing worse than having a favourite spot that eventually lets you down with changing costs or portion sizes.
Also, pineapple on pizza is the best! π
Great post! I love photo posts I find them so easy to read π
This is so pretty, and that food looks amazing!

Yay farmers market! Ours is slowly gaining some traction, but the reaaaaaally good stuff doesn’t start appearing until June/July. But we love the local potatoes, garlic, spinach, and asparagus!
A Quiet Place is one of the first movies in FOREVER that I’ve wanted to see. I still haven’t, but I’m going to! Tully is also on the list.
It looks like you guys have a good month. Bring on MAY!

I really want to watch A Quiet Place too, heard so much good reviews about it. I thought I’m the only one who order kids meal but I can do it only if my toddler is with me, otherwise they won’t allow it π I actually got to know Poke bowls from you and Nancy and when I saw one here I had to try it and now I’m hooked.

I’m sure I said it before, but I love these photo-dumps! Every photo has a story π€I have so many photos that don’t make it to the ‘gram or blog, so definitely will be adopting this idea in the future.
That’s so lovely of Nat to send you a map as a house-warming gift, it looks so pretty and I think it suits you and Chris well hahaha. Very outdoorsy π

Musings & More
The map is gorgeous!! I absolutely love it, what a great gift to receive.
And the rest of your post has made me super hungry…
I am loving that National Parks map! I love maps – we have a world one hanging in our bathroom and it shows little illustrations of things that come from each country. It’s pretty cute.
I’ve seen A Quiet Place and absolutely loved it. I genuinely left the cinema with my butt still clenched. I was so sad with what happened to the dad π
PINEAPPLE? You’re lucky I like you, otherwise we would have to fight girl. I’m the complete opposite – I gotta have meat on my pizza XD
Isn’t it so disappointing when your favourite eats go down in size and quality? At least you have a reason to explore and hunt for some new poke places! Love that map btw – such a gorgeous house warming gift!
