Last March, my coworkers (Jamie, Sam & Fred) & I drove up to Sequoia National Park to hike Big Baldy when the trails finally reopened. It was the very first hike of the year and season, and unfortunately the last for the time being as coronavirus precautions were soon established.
We met up at Fred’s house early in the morning and it was a two-hour drive to the trailhead. Once we got to the top, we relaxed and enjoyed the view before heading back down. We got lost several times since the trail was still covered in snow and while it was fun, it was also scary – especially after sliding knee-deep into the snow and eventually into the unknown. I’m headed for another hike this week, so keep a look out!
