Eensy Bits – June

July 3, 2018

Eensy Bits, named after a forgotten blog, are entries where I share photos or thoughts that never get its own blog post. I write about little bits about what I’ve been up to!

Graduations

My youngest brother recently graduated from eighth grade and it was a lot of fun celebrating him! He graduated valedictorian of his class with a 4.0 GPA and won scholarship awards for his high school – I’m a proud sister! After his graduation, we ate at The Derby, which is a famous local steakhouse and their prime rib is amazing.

Birthdays / Father’s Day

Honestly, this month consisted mostly of me visiting family back and forth. On Father’s Day, we celebrated my dad by having lunch at Lucille’s Smokehouse where we ate more steak and enjoyed some southern lemonades. I celebrated two birthdays for the month as well – Chris’ 30th birthday and my brother’s 16th birthday. For Chris, we celebrated by grabbing lunch at Sequoia Brewing Company and enjoyed some outdoors-y themed burgers. For my brother’s, we had a family lunch at Luxe Seafood Buffet (unlimited lobster!!!). I’m positive I gained ten pounds this month.

#snailmailrevolution

In a previous post, I wrote about joining Postcrossing; well I stumbled upon the snail mail community and found myself some new penpals! I’ve rekindled my love for writing letters and collecting postage stamps – and this explains why I’ve been somewhat absent on the blog. I got too busy writing letters. For the month of June, I received a total of 29 letters from all over the world! Snail mail is a cool hobby, y’all.

Aaaand that sums up my month of June. I’m still in the process of trying to catch up on posts – should have this accomplished by July. Fingers crossed! Tell me how your month of June was. Isn’t it crazy how we’re in the second half of the year now?!

Omg a huge congratulations to your little brother! // You’ve been busy with the snail mail, I love it! Nothing beats pen on paper. I think I might possibly take up writing postcards once I move and things settle down next month 😮 -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

Congratulations to your youngest brother! What an achiever! I hope my brother graduates soon so I can split house bills with him lol
Unlimited lobsters???!!! I live! I’d trade that for 10 pounds any day haaha
I’ve yet to find a snail mail group in PH, it’s so sad. It’s so fulfilling to write handwritten notes and the feel of paper in one’s hand is exquisite.

Glad I found your blog!!! I have been wanting a post exchange for a bit. I joined the International Geek Girls Pen Pal club which is lovely but a postcard seems like something I can keep up with versus letter writing. A handwritten post is so fun!!!

Happy birthday and congrats to both of your brothers!!!!! And to Chris!

Wow a lot of letters and congrats to your brother! Your post about Postcrossing made me join and so far only sent one card… not received any yet. Have two more to send, just need to stamp them! Hope I get some soon

Aww, that is so awesome that your brother did so well. 😀 It’s great that he has your support and I am sure he will go on to do great things. That is an impressive number of letters that you received. There is something so magical about receiving a mail in the post. I guess because it’s not an ‘instant’ thing and you have to spend time and money on doing it. 😀

I love your blog format! Your photos look professional, too. I’m impressed with all the letters you received. I’ve lost touch with sending letters in the mail, and I miss it. There’s nothing quite like getting or giving a heartfelt letter. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of your interesting life!

OMG, Eena!!! You don’t know how thankful I am being here on your blog! I will definitely give Postcrossing a try. Thank you and I hope I get the same number as yours. Anyway, congrats to your brother. I’m sure he sacrificed a lot to get that.
