When Chris and I picked a date for our wedding, I told my childhood best friend, Keisha, all about it. Keisha and I have been friends since 2000, back when we both lived in our hometown of Cebu City. The last time I saw her in person was in 2007, right before my family moved to California. Through the years, we kept in touch through emails, annual care packages and eventually, simply through FaceTime and social media.

After mentioning my wedding plans, she talked about how she’d love to be there on my big day – the next thing I knew, she had secured the days off AND managed to book a ticket to California! On the day of her arrival, I picked her up from LAX with my cousins from Canada in tow (Angie and Krystle). Our first order of business was definitely In N Out!

We spent a good week catching up, trying out new food (hello, Popeye’s chicken sandwich), driving to the mountains at the break of dawn and getting dolled up for my wedding. If there’s one thing I learned, people change but good friendships last forever! Extremely thankful my best friend and I were able to share this milestone in my life. Looking forward to our next adventure together!

It is great when you get to be reunited after so long! Keisha was great during the wedding!! Love that you got to have some cool foodie adventures AND YESSSS IN-N-OUT!! Haters gonna hate but their burgers are bombdotcom, don’t @ me. It is great that you got to try out the popeyes chicken sandwich too before it went out of stock. People change, and as long as it means it’s through maturity, you good.

Such a sweet story of friendship. I believe in long lasting friendship too as I still have friends from college when I was still in Cebu that I am still communicating with up to these days.

I love this, it’s so sweet! I’m from Australia and my childhood best friend moved to England in 2002, we were reunited when I travelled there in 2012 so I know how big of a deal it is and how wonderful it is to see somebody so important after such a long time! So glad she got to be there and share your day with you <3

It’s so easy to let friendships slip away, and it is wonderful that you’ve stayed in touch with you friend across the years & miles. Looks like the two of you had a lot of fun!

This is so nice! Glad you had some nice time to catch up and she got to be there at your wedding. Just goes to show that distance doesnt have to separate you from people – especially now we have messenger apps and face time!
