This is it!! The last leg of our trip from up north. We visited Muir Woods and ultimately Yosemite. Also, it’s already July – where did the time go?! This year feels like it’s just breezing by right in front of my very eyes.
MUIR WOODS NATIONAL MONUMENT
The day after the Hamilton play, we visited Muir Woods since it’s considered a must-see for those making the trip up north. It was an hour drive from our Airbnb and since we didn’t really have anything planned, we decided to make the drive.
We got into the place for free (thanks to the annual parks pass I purchased that I mentioned in this earlier entry). Their entrance fee was per person so we saved around $20 on that alone. Muir Woods is considered great for hiking but it isn’t like your typical hike because the way was perfectly paved. It’s more for sightseeing and just enjoying the sights.
We didn’t stay too long at Muir Woods. After a good hour or two, we headed back to Richmond and stopped by The Original Mel’s Diner for a late lunch. That evening, we met up with my aunt and her husband in Santa Clara for dinner at Il Fornaio. The food at Il Fornaio was expensive really good! They did a birthday song for Chris in Italian. Their service was really impressive – highly recommend checking this place for any special occasions.
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
Lastly, the very very very end of the trip. Seeing Yosemite National Park. I’d been here years ago but this was Chris’ first time setting foot in this beautiful park. I love national parks because it’s a reminder of how beautiful nature really is.
This trip was really fun. Although it was sunnier than we had hoped it would be, it was still enjoyable and memorable – I mean, I got engaged, finally saw my favorite musical and got to soak in so much of nature. Until the next trip, wherever it may be!
