Quarantine Blues

April 22, 2020

Last month, my cousin, Angie, and I had plans to spend a week in Utah for some cousin bonding time. Unfortunately, due to the implemented stay at home measures, we made the difficult decision of postponing our trip. Despite a cancelled trip, we managed to squeeze in a visit to Kings Canyon National Park before she hopped on a plane back to Canada before the US/Canada border was closed off for unnecessary travel. Our timing for this trip was terrible but we’re looking at it with a positive attitude! Anyways, we visited Kings Canyon on a beautiful Saturday morning and were rewarded with a winter wonderland. Social distancing? It’s snow problem!

We drove up to the mountains early in the morning and we got the park to ourselves! We got on the trail to see General Grant, then enjoyed some time in the gift shop. I purchased a new hiking book which has proved to be rather useful while I spent time at home to practice social distancing.

Since the beginning of the mandatory quarantine, I’ve been taking this time to redecorate the house! As you know, I enjoy taking a lot of photos and have accumulated a large amount of photos tucked away in my hard drive. Using a photo company called Photo Wall, I managed to get some of my photos printed on canvas to decorate around the house. Photo Wall also offers their own gallery of images to choose from – and I was able to get this adorable photo of Catdalf on canvas – it now hangs right next to my cat’s hidden litter box. Their canvas prints have really great quality and definitely did not disappoint! If you would like to get your photos printed on beautiful canvas or go through their selection of photos, feel free to use my code chrisandeena2021 to get 25% off your next print! If canvas isn’t your thing, they also offer wall murals, wallpapers or posters!

It sucks that your trip had to be canceled :/. But at least you still made the most out of it by going to Kings Canyon! Gotta have some wins :). I am glad you were positive about it. Things could’ve been worse and I am glad that at least it didn’t happen in the middle of the trip. The park looks gorgeous!! Love the nature vibes!!!

Ooooooohooo I love the photo print!! Man, there should be some movie series with cat wizards lol. Glad you got to still make the most with the quarantine with some home decor! Keep doing great, boo!

Such a shame your Utah trip had to be cancelled but I’m glad to hear that you guys made it out to Kings Canyon! That wintery landscape is so, so beautiful. It’s so important to have a good attitude during times like this as well.

Oh my goodness, the Catdalf is hilarious and adorable at the same time! Thanks for sharing that – I may pick it up as a gift for the in-laws :P. I’m trying to find more wall space to decorate without making our place look super cluttered and it’s proving to be tough when you live in a small unit! I think I’ll try to convince my boyfriend to swap some things out every now and then until we decide to move to a bigger place.

It’s unfortunate that you had to cancel your trip, I’ve had to cancel two trips myself. Although, I suppose now we can plan and look forward to future trips. Your photography is beautiful.

Wow how gorgeous! So annoying the amount of events/trips etc this pandemic has interrupted – however, I fully appreciate the need for everyone to be on lockdown. At the moment I have really been looking forward to the future and what I want to do. It has made me realise the amount of ‘normal’ things that I took for granted before. Stay safe! xx

So frustrating that you had to postpone your trip, but hopefully this will pass soon and you’ll be able to rearrange! Those photos are gorgeous

I personally didn’t have any trips I had to cancel but I feel so sorry for the ones that did. It sucks. Kings Canyon National Park looks so beautiful and serene. I love hiking for forest paths. Those trees are so tall! That image of Catdalf is so cute!

The pandemic has been taking a toll on everyone’s plans but I’m glad you got to squeeze in some cousin bonding time even if it didn’t go as planned. I hope you’re well!
