Hi, hello there! I’m still around and I’m actually celebrating my 27th birthday today! Yep, 27 years — how crazy is that?! Just three more and I’ll be in my thirties… but until then, I’ll enjoy my late twenties for now!

The past year of my life has been a very interesting one. While I didn’t get to pay off my credit card debt like I had originally planned and hoped to, I did start working in the acute psychiatric setting and that’s definitely something I’m so, so proud of myself for. I’ve had my fair share of working in long-term/skilled psychiatric nursing setting but I grew tired of it and wanted more.

And I found more. There are days where I get too tired of waking up at 5am, but I’m glad I do and I’m glad I sort of make a difference in someone’s life. My patient the other day bragged about how I’m such an awesome nurse, yes please. *insert hair flip*

Besides that, my 26th year was filled with lots of hiking and good food. And of course, along with that, good company. As I get older, I’ve learned to really value those around me and I believe my relationship with my parents now is the strongest it’s ever been and I love it. I absolutely love it. It’s great when you know you have a good support system around. ย I spent quality time with family this past weekend; for today, I volunteered at a rescue mission and grabbed Thai food for lunch with Chris.

Fun fact — I read earlier this year that Scorpios born in the Year of the Goat will finally witness their moon aligning with Jupiter this year, accounting for good luck and fortune for the next few years. I don’t know about you but I’ve been feeling reallyย reallyย  so bring it on. Ready to tackle on the last three years of my 20s with a bang.

  • Happy Belated Birthday! I turn 28 tomorrow so I know how it feels to be “that” much closer to 30. Hope you had a great day!

  • Happy birthday! Itโ€™s anazing all that you learn and experience through life and how things change for you as you get older. I agree, nurses are awesome and they are the backbone of healthcare.

  • Happy belated birthday! Time certainly goes by so quick. I remember when I turned 27, and now in a week I will be 30! I was born in the year of the dragon, so I just had to look up that horoscope for the coming year. It says that I will suffer some financial difficulties. Oh, how I hope that isn’t true!

  • What a lovely post. So sweet and sentimental. Happy birthday! I hope this year brings you more growth, love, joy and happiness๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’• I love that the older we get the closer our relationships get with our parents๐Ÿ˜

  • Happy Birthday! It sounds like you had a great year and are poised on the brink of a another one! I hope you go on to meet all the goals you have set!

  • Happy Belated Birthday, Eena! Enjoy your late 20s ๐Ÿ™‚ I miss my late 20s.

A lot can happen in a year. I’m glad you were able to have good company and good food (two important things in life, in my opinion, haha!).

I am also happy you are happy with your current job. Waking up at 5:00am is not a picnic, but it pays off when you have people loving what you do and are thankful for your service.

Here’s to an even betterh 27th year for you!
