A few weeks ago, my mom was planning on taking my dad to date night to see U2 live at the Rose Bowl. U2 is my dad’s all-time favorite band, and I’m sure my mom needs a break us every now and then. However, when she brought up the idea with my dad, he was initially hesitant to go because the tickets were rather pricey and they were a bit far.
On Friday night, my mom was browsing through the tickets and saw they had released closer seats to the side of the stage and bought them on a whim – this time taking my brothers, my aunt and myself with them.
We got to the Rose Bowl at 4:00PM and it was already packed! We waited an hour in the California heat for the gates to open – it’s only May but the weather’s going up as high as 85 degrees. Not cool. When we got inside, we bought drinks and food.
The Lumineers opened for U2 and it was amaaaazing. BUT U2 WAS EVEN MORE AMAZING. I’m not the biggest U2 fan but I found myself singing along to most songs. Words honestly can’t really describe the euphoria I felt during the concert. We left before it finished because the Rose Bowl holds approximately 60,000 people, and since it was packed that night, the traffic would’ve been really intense.
It was such a great experience. Thank you U2 and the Lumineers for the best concert of my life; to my parents for making date night to family night ♥
