U2: The Joshua Tree Tour 2017

May 22, 2017

A few weeks ago, my mom was planning on taking my dad to date night to see U2 live at the Rose Bowl. U2 is my dad’s all-time favorite band, and I’m sure my mom needs a break us every now and then. However, when she brought up the idea with my dad, he was initially hesitant to go because the tickets were rather pricey and they were a bit far.

On Friday night, my mom was browsing through the tickets and saw they had released closer seats to the side of the stage and bought them on a whim – this time taking my brothers, my aunt and myself with them.

We got to the Rose Bowl at 4:00PM and it was already packed! We waited an hour in the California heat for the gates to open – it’s only May but the weather’s going up as high as 85 degrees. Not cool. When we got inside, we bought drinks and food.

The Lumineers opened for U2 and it was amaaaazing. BUT U2 WAS EVEN MORE AMAZING. I’m not the biggest U2 fan but I found myself singing along to most songs. Words honestly can’t really describe the euphoria I felt during the concert. We left before it finished because the Rose Bowl holds approximately 60,000 people, and since it was packed that night, the traffic would’ve been really intense.

It was such a great experience. Thank you U2 and the Lumineers for the best concert of my life; to my parents for making date night to family night ♥

Sounds like you guys had an awesome time! I'm glad that your dad got to see his favorite band! I went to see The Lumineers here in NYC and their concert was great, they are very good live. I'm sure U2 is also! I've never been much of a concert goer but I'm slowly converting 🙂

I am not a fan of U2 at all but that venue looks like a really fun place! I definitely know the feeling of 85 in May, having just moved from Arizona!

I don't listen to U2 or The Lumineers that much, but I do like The Lumineers! I've never been to a concert on such a big scale before. It must have been a crazy experience! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

Aw I love that you experienced this with your family! My parents would never agree to go to a concert with me, haha. Your dad is adorable! I'm actually OBSESSED with The Lumineers! I haven't heard many songs by U2 but I bet I'd recognize some!

OMG EEN love the photos! Still choked for missing them when they were here 🙁 but the tickets were definitely pricey, so you're super lucky for finding some with good seats too!

We were at our friends' son's baptism this day. Towards the end of the reception, my friend's sisters went to see this show! I've seen photos and some videos from the concert, and I can tell that everyone had a great time! Isn't it amazing to see your favorite artists perform live??
